If you get amphetamines (Adderall generic) from Medco I have a question for you?
Q. Have you noticed a difference in the way you feel after taking your medication. I am asking because the last script I got filled through them I have noticed that after I take the medication I start to become zoned out and my ears ring. I switched to amphetamine from walgreens for a month and I got better. But now I am taking the medco tabs and I feel the same symptoms coming back.

A. Where the pills come from has nothing to do with anything. However, Medco might be using a different generic than Walgreen's uses or even from what Medco themselves have used in the past. You should be able to request your records from Medco and look at the NDC (National Drug Codes) and at the manufacturers of the medications you've been taking. If you've been experiencing those side effect from pills of a particular manufacturer, you need to ask Medco what you can do about making sure you don't take that particular generic b'c it doens't work for you. It can't hurt to ask your doctor about that too. Good luck.

Does Medco reimburse on rx drugs?
Q. I recently picked up a prescription for generic medication. The pharmacy said the insurance co. wanted to talk to the doctor first before they'd cover it. I bought the medication anyway, it was cheap enough. If i have my doctor call them now, would they possibly reimburse me for the cost they didnt cover originally?

A. Most insurance companies will not retroactively apply the prior authorization of a doctor. For you next refill, it should be no problem.

A. It's rediculous! People are sublimenting their bad parenting skills with drugs, and that is not right. People need to learn how do properly disapline their children and set clear boundaries. Without boundaries, how is the child supposed to know how to act? Of course they are acting crazy if the parents aren't disaplining their bad behaviors. What is this world comming to!

How do I transfer a prescription from Medco, to my local pharmacy?
Q. I got married, and changed insurance plans. The plan I used to be on went through Medco, and my current plan goes through the normal pharmacy. I asked my doctor when she wrote the script and she said that if I just contact the company, they should transfer it, no problem (but to call her for a new script if there are any issues). I've had a lot of problems with Medco, so I thought I'd start here, rather that sit on the phone with customer service for an hour. Does anyone know how to go about transferring it? Is there a form to fill out? Or do I just have my new pharmacy call Medco? Thanks in advance. I guess I should have mentioned that Medco is a mail in pharmacy company. I'll try just going into my pharmacy and see if they… [cont.]

Why are pharmacists paid so well?
Q. There average wage is above 90K, how hard is it to fill a bottle with pills. It is not like the old days where they are crushing different compounds together to make medicine. I know it is important not to mix up pills and know side effects but isn't the latter the doctor's responsibility. Also, you used to be able to have a Bachelors in Pharmacy now it takes a Doctorate, it this just so there will be a shortage and raise salaries? I think Medco, which was part of Merck-Medco had an almost fully automated prescription dispenser with less errors than human pharmacists.

There is proprietary software made specifically for scripting such as The Compounder. I am amazed at how much they make also. One time I think it was Wal Mart was offering a 1 million dollar salary for 10 year commitment or 100K per year for 10 years and at the time it was unheard of as of today guys I know go to Rite Aid or the such and will step into a job making 90K/year with 20K sign on bonus. I will admit though that my pharm friends are very intelligent and very hard workers no doubt about it. But I've also found it odd as to how much they get paid. A. Different things happen to drugs on pharmacy plans. One is that they go generic. When that happens, your insurer usually wants to pay only for the generic version since this is much less expensive. In that case, they may still pay for the same medication, but not for the name brand. Another is that they take a medication totally off the plan. In that case, they will not pay for it. They have decided that there are one or more other drugs that can do the same or better and are more cost effective. It happened to me once. I was prescribed some sort of antibiotic. A. not likely as medeco locks are very high security and have to be keyed at the factory, thats what makes them so secure. also they dont let any key blanks to be made so not anyone can get a copy of your keys. good locks but hard to get a copy. they do make them available but if you dont have the number then you will most likely have to get a new lock.

A. Ask them for a Tracking Number so that you can see the EDT (estimated delivery time.) In future, when you order from Medco, and you want 2 Day Air - tell them up front - there will be an extra charge.
